Kevin Durant tries to end game 2 by intentionally missing a free-throw, instead airballs

After hitting a tough baseline runner with Pau Gasol’s hand in his face and putting the Thunder up 76-75 with 18.6 seconds left, Kevin Durant was looking forward to heading home with the W after one more defensive stop. Indeed, LA’s Steve Blake missed a three from the corner, and LA was forced to foul Durant. Durant wisely tried to intentionally miss his second free-throw to let the 0.3 second left on the clock wind down, but instead airballed the shot and gave the Lakers another chance to take the game to overtime with a two or win it with a three. Luckily for him, inbounding the ball from the other side of the court and getting a shot off is pretty hard, and the Lakers couldn’t make it happen. Though Durant had plenty of reason for concern:
